In 2019, BKM and Orange announced they were joining forces, as BKM-Orange, to answer the growing demand of B2B customers for a single connectivity and ICT provider. As of today, BKM-Orange will continue under the flag of Orange Belgium. Half a year after the joining of forces with telecom operator VOO, signing a long-term agreement with Wyre (joint venture between Telenet and Fluvius) and launching its ambitious ‘Lead the Future’-strategy, Orange Belgium marks a first milestone in its industrial project. Six months earlier than anticipated, Orange Belgium has become the first telecoms provider in Belgium to offer a nationwide gigabit network, allowing Belgian citizens to enjoy very high broadband speeds up to 1 Gbps on its powerful HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) network.

Orange Belgium and EVS live broadcast theater play through 5G

Yesterday, Orange Belgium and EVS inaugurated the launch of the "Flex Production" 5G project at La Grand Poste in Liège. Flex Production makes it possible to dispense with the need for mobile control rooms, thanks to the creation of a remote audiovisual production flow over 5G between the event location and the centralized production center. To carry out this ambitious pilot project, a collaboration was established with the Théâtre de Liège for the play Andromaque, which was broadcast live to more than 10,000 students from Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement.
