Orange Belgium introduces 400Mbps speed option for all customers and gives a major boost to its Love Pro offer for independents and small/home offices through a multi-product advantage

In just one year the average fixed internet throughput consumption increased by 100%: a massive ramp up due to ever evolving residential but also professional use of the Internet. As from 15th June, the Internet Boost option will offer an upgraded download speed of 400 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 40 Mbps. For small professional customers, the new Internet Boost option also allows them to benefit from the multi-product advantages already available for residential customers.

The increase of fixed internet usage was given an unseen acceleration with the lockdown, which triggered an important shift towards homeworking. A new configuration which resulted in an important growth of internet consumption, not only on download side, with an average increase of more than 15%, but also on upload, with a more than 50% increase since February, as homeworkers have to collaborate on documents, send files, organize videocalls, etc.

In order to adapt to the changes it observes on the market, Orange Belgium decided to revamp its Love offer: as from 15th June, customers can opt for a revamped Internet Boost service, which allows a 400 Mbps download speed – instead of 200Mbps- and upload speeds from 20 Mbps for customers on the footprint of VOO, to 40 Mbps for customers on the footprint of Telenet.

For professional customers, the need for a fast, performing and reliable connection is even more important as it can impact their daily business. Keeping up with its Bold challenger profile, Orange Belgium therefore also decided to grant small and home offices (typically restaurants, consultants, plumbers, …) opting for the Love Pro offer with the Internet Boost the multi-product advantage already available for residential customers on the Go Intense and Go Unlimited subscriptions. For instance, a professional customer choosing an offer Love Duo Pro + Internet Boost + 2 mobile Go Intense subscriptions (unlimited calls & SMS, 15GB mobile data) will only have to pay 91€ (75.21€ VAT excl).

Christophe Dujardin, Chief Consumer Business officer of Orange Belgium, comments: “Small businesses are going through peculiar and often difficult times because of the Covid19 pandemic and its expected economic impact. It is therefore even more important for us to offer them reliable and qualitative services, adapted to their new usages, at the best price.”
