Orange Belgium takes good connections for Belgian families to the next level

In line with our raison d’être “As a trusted partner, we give everyone the keys to a responsible digital world”, Orange Belgium is supporting a wide array of family focused initiatives to reinforce their commitment to Belgian families. These initiatives are defined under the #ForGoodConnections program.

Orange Belgium is there for families, by actively promoting a series of initiatives that support families in the digital world. Working with partners and experts, all these initiatives under the #ForGoodConnections platform aim to help protect young people and families on their journey through the digital world.

“We want to provide families with all the support they need to navigate the digital world – parents and children alike. Whether it is by opening dialogues on how to handle their first smartphone with the Smartphone Pass, by allowing them to donate to family organizations like la Ligue des familles and Gezinsbond through our Orange Thank You Program or by offering expertise and allowing customers to disconnect from the digital world in a meaningful way with DConnect,” Nathalie Rahbani, Director and Acting Chief Brand, Communication and ESG Officer at Orange Belgium explains. “We make very conscious decisions in choosing partnerships that bring value to customers and that are fitting well within our For Good Connections strategy.”

Smartphone Pass

Last month, Orange Belgium launched the Smartphone Pass – a free platform that helps parents and children discuss topics such as screen time, privacy, online safety and cyberbullying. iVOX research commissioned by Orange showed more than half of Belgian parents feel unprepared to support their children in taking the important step their children take towards a new smartphone. With the Smartphone Pass Orange offers support to parents in the digital education of their children.

Orange Thank You

Orange customers are automatically entered in the Orange Thank You loyalty program. The program offers surprise gifts on special occasions, as well as exclusive benefits to loyal customers. Customers also have the option to choose to donate their loyalty bonus to a charity of their choice. This summer, almost 25.000 customers donated a total of €51.714, of which €10.246 to la Ligue des familles and €20.328 to Gezinsbond, as well as other charities.

La Ligue des familles and Gezinsbond

Orange Belgium, la Ligue des familles and Gezinsbond share their expertise to organise conferences on online safety and digital parenting. Gezinsbond uses this expertise to educate families around digital safety, through free interactive webinars, articles and panel discussions to bring awareness to the topic. Through the Orange Thank You loyalty program, Orange customers also get the opportunity to get a trial membership to Gezinsbond or la Ligue des familles for multiple months, giving them access to tips and advice on upbringing, discounts with local businesses and day trips, and to the Allo Info Parents service of la Ligue des familles, a personalized service with experts who reply to questions from parents.

DConnect

In partnership with DConnect and through the Orange Thank You loyalty program, 1000 Orange customers get 6 months of exclusive free access to the premium version DConnect app, a guidance method to support our clients to gently and voluntarily disconnect from the online world at times, to regain a healthy screen time balance, on a personal level or with friends and family.

For Good Connections

Orange has a strong commitment to #ForGoodConnections, the company’s initiative to promote a safer digital world. Under this banner, Orange Belgium supports responsible digital habits and is actively committed to protecting young people from digital abuse. This year, Orange Belgium is focusing on the fight against cyberbullying, with future plans to address online hate and the impact of hyperconnectivity. Through For Good Connection Orange Belgium enables families to enjoy a safe and balanced digital experience by featuring a wide array of family focused initiatives.
